| Key Note 1 Global IT Trends and Impact on your IT Architecture Chris Howard (Burton Group) |
| Trends for IT in a Recovering Economy In this keynote address, Gartner VP and Chief of Research Chris Howard will give an overview of trends affecting enterprise IT in 2010 and beyond. The economy continues to influence spending and project decisions, even as the world appears to be climbing out of crisis. As a result, enterprise IT professionals find themselves working within a "New Normal" where reduced resources are a way of life. Emerging technologies, including cloud computing, offer some promise as new models for IT and business but older concepts are still on strategic plans: Business Intelligence, Business Process Management, Data Management, SOA. Mr. Howard will lead a discussion of how these initiatives are interconnected, where there is more hype than reality, and how organizations should take confident steps forward.

| ALSTOM is a good example of companies, where heterogeneous environments of different systems from SAP, Siebel up to customized applications have to work hand in hand. Coming from a long EAI experience based on the Tibco platform and evolving to a more service oriented setup, we will concentrate on quality and development efficiency aspects of such architectures and on what tools are required. We will describe why ALSTOM has chosen to introduce LISA™ as the automated testing tool for the integration environment and what has been achieved over the last 9 months. The experiences of introducing Lisa will be presented, as well as the impacts on the project set up and how we are moving to a more test driven project approach. We will also show typical solution patterns for reducing quality assurance costs, shortening release cycles and eliminating development and delivery constraints in a growing world of SOA. |
